Wednesday's Domaine is on a mission to create the category-defining alcohol free wine brand. We want to become the midweek wine alternative for food and drink lovers, bringing joy to a previously staid and unloved space.

We've begun to hit our straps as a business and are growing quickly across multiple channels and geographies. As we scale, we're looking for a driven and dynamic Commercial Manager to lead our Sales function and build meaningful partnerships with retail, on-trade, and distribution partners.

What You'll Do

As the Commercial Manager, you will work closely with the founder to own and drive the company's commercial strategy and execution, ensuring sustainable growth across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Sales Strategy: Review, refine and execute sales strategies across key channels to drive sustained expansion of the business, including owning and delivering agreed commercial metrics.
  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with off-trade retail, on-trade and distribution partners, ensuring alignment with our brand values and commercial goals.
  • Channel Management: Oversee and own core sales channels, as well as identifying incremental growth opportunities that allow us to quickly scale our reach.
  • Negotiation and Account Management: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with major customers while managing ongoing relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with our Growth function and wider business to understand how our D2C efforts can support our "bricks and mortar" distribution.

Requirements

What You'll Have Done

To succeed in this role, you will bring a proven track record of achievement in relevant commercial and sales roles.

Experience includes:

  • Relevant Industry Experience: Worked within the broader Consumer space, ideally in a food or drink startup or rapidly-scaling business.
  • Selling to Large Businesses: Demonstrated success selling products to large off-trade retail chains, on-trade groups or distributors: alongside evidence of having developed and navigated complex commercial relationships.
  • Channel Development: Managed and grown both numerous sales channels simultaneously, from initial strategy to continued execution and evolution.
  • Negotiation Expertise: Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts and deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Metrics-Driven: Used data and KPIs to measure success and refine strategies for commercial growth.
  • Managing Others: comfortable and competent managing others, helping to guide their development and ongoing success.
Who You Are

We're looking for someone with a blend of entrepreneurial spirit, strategic acumen and a willingness to grind through the inevitable ups and downs of building any meaningful business.

Traits we value:

  • Relationship-Builder: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster trust and collaboration quickly and then to maintain over the long term.
  • Results-Oriented: Highly motivated by hitting targets, driving growth, and making a tangible impact on the business.
  • Commercially Savvy: Strong understanding of the broader beverage landscape and what it takes to build an impactful Consumer business.
  • Adaptable: Thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment and can change tack when required, having the humility to recognise something hasn't worked.
  • Curious: Unconstrained by category norms, you're willing and able to follow your nose if you think something could work for us.
  • Passionate About the Product: Excited by the opportunity to create the category-defining alcohol free wine brand and everything that surrounds that.
  • Trustworthy and Independent: You'll be given a lot of freedom in the role and this comes with a certain level of responsibility to manage your time and meet broader business goals.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Occasional requirement for overnight travel.

Benefits
  • Salary of £50,000 - £60,000 DOE with additional performance-based bonus.
  • Hybrid working.
Wednesday's Domaine is an equal opportunity employer.
