Job Summary:

Reporting to the APAC Team Leader in QLD, this position is responsible for the processing of purchase requisitions into purchase orders of CTS APAC

This position typically works under limited supervision

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Processes purchase requisitions into Purchase Orders from the SAP Buyer Queue in line with established SLAs.
  • Assure that all purchases represent value for money, conform to Cubic's policies and avoid unfair business practices.
  • Research, negotiate, renew, cancel or initiate competitive bids for materials, parts, equipment and services utilised by Cubic; determine product quality, comparability of like products, cost factors, varying warranties, specific requirements.
  • Source new and improved materials, tools, parts, and services, and interview vendors' representatives for reliability and ability to deliver as scheduled.
  • Investigate/recommend alternate sources of supply and effectively utilise large volume purchases when feasible to reduce costs.
  • Run weekly Overdue PO report and chase for status, updating due dates and adding notes or attachments as needed.
  • Consult with internal departments on changing product and service needs and respond to employee queries in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the APAC Procurement team to ensure job role coverage.
  • Action all Blocked Invoices from Accounts to ensure timely processing of payment to Vendor.
  • Ensure timely submission of weekly report to the Procurement Manager providing details on achievements, issues etc.
  • Assist in closing out Corrective Action Requests.
  • May be required to ensure Goods Receipts for all Incoming deliveries, including offsite facilities, are processed and any discrepancies investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
  • May be responsible for shipping and export compliance, specifically:
  • Providing project support for freight charges; including quotations, bookings, pick-up/drop off co-ordination and tracking.
General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures
  • Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisations
  • Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures
  • Other duties as requested
Skills/ Experience/ Knowledge

Essential:
  • Knowledge and understanding of the purchasing cycle including requests for quotation.
  • Experience utilising SAP ERP system.
  • Experience utilising Microsoft based systems.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
Desirable:
  • Experience in working in a technology-based company including warehousing
  • Procurement experience would be preferred
  • Ability to read and understand specifications, drawings and Bill of Materials
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate with vendors, evaluate quotations against specifications
  • Maintaining market knowledge and awareness of changing market conditions
  • Experience in diverse buying activities

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, verbally and in writing.
Condition of Employment
