Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies that align with the overall business goals and drive growth.
- Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
Product Management:
- Curate an attractive and competitive product assortment that maximizes sales while minimizing costs.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of product lines and implement necessary changes to enhance profitability.
Vendor Relations:
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and contracts.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on key performance indicators, including delivery, quality, and service levels.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock availability and minimizing disruptions.
- Utilize forecasting tools and data to predict customer demand and drive inventory decisions.
Promotion and Marketing:
- Work with marketing teams to create and execute marketing plans and promotions that enhance brand visibility and drive sales.
- Monitor and assess the impact of promotional activities and adjust strategies based on performance data.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in category management or a similar position, ideally within a retail or e-commerce environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with category management software.
