Commercial Manager
The Commercial Manager is a key member of the Sizewell C Security Team, within the Operation Support Team. They will be the pivotal link between the SZC Contract Commercial Manager and G4S Nuclear Sector Commercial Director.

Commercial Manager
The Commercial Manager is a key member of the Sizewell C Security Team, within the Operation Support Team. They will be the pivotal link between the SZC Contract Commercial Manager and G4S Nuclear Sector Commercial Director.
- Responsible for the commercial administration and financial management of the Sizewell C Security contract (NEC 3).
- Manages all commercial aspects of the project from contract award to final account closure.
- Maximizes profitability and minimizes risk while maintaining positive client
- relationships.
- Requires a deep understanding of NEC3 contracts.
Weekly Hours: 40 hrs - This is a hybrid working role, requiring a combination of office-based and remote work.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Award Phase:
- Review tender documentation and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Prepare commercial proposals and participate in tender negotiations.
- Develop and implement pre-contract commercial plans.
- Administer the NEC3 contract in accordance with its provisions, ensuring compliance with all clauses and timescales.
- Manage the change control process, including the evaluation and agreement of compensation events.
- Proactively identify and manage potential disputes, seeking amicable resolutions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records, including early warnings, programme submissions, and payment applications.
- Advise the project team on NEC3 best practices and contractual obligations.
- Develop and implement commercial procedures and processes specific to NEC3 contracts.
- Manage the Contract reporting platform
- Develop and monitor project budgets and cost forecasts.
- Manage cost reporting and analysis, identifying trends and variances.
- Implement cost control measures and maximise value for money.
- Negotiate and agree variations to the contract.
- Application for Payment Generation
- Month end support to Finance
- Assisting Audit
- Develop and manage subcontract agreements, ensuring alignment with the main
- contract.
- Oversee subcontractor performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Manage subcontractor payments and variations.
- Identify and assess commercial risks and opportunities.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and report on risk status.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal
- stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate commercial information to all relevant parties.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in commercial management, specifically with NEC3 contracts.
- NEC3 Contract expertise (Desirable)
- Qualified Accountant CIMA/ACCA/ACA (Desirable)
- Cost management and control
